The list of radio stations has been updated to reflect that of the Radio Diary (See Section 3).

2. PRODUCTS/SERVICES

2.1. Your Home

The options for type(s) of electricity used in the household have been expanded to differentiate between using a generator on a daily basis and using a generator only when there is load shedding or power failures. The other two options remained as mains electricity and solar.

2.2 Durables

A new question to ascertain whether any of the household’s radio sets which are in working order, can be powered by batteries.

2.3 Personal Data

Due to the expansion of household diary flooding to include 13-15 year old household members, (see Section 3) the Personal Data section of the AMPS questionnaire has been expanded to obtain the demographics of these 13-15 year olds.

2.4 TAMS

SAARF has revised the TAMS leave-behind pamphlet. It gives respondents more information about what they can expect should they be contacted later by AGBNielsen Media Research to become TAMS panel members.

3. RADIO

There are 16 new radio stations making a total of 167 licensed stations for July-December 2008.

NOTE: For the July-December 2008 period, Supplementary Diaries are also placed with 13 to 15 year olds (previously placed only with age 16 years and older). It is necessary to obtain written consent from a parent or guardian to place the Diary with 13 year olds.
